Yunnan, China Part 2

So here I am, awake at 0800 being all like "won't it be a terribly wonderful idea to blog about Yunnan while still half asleep"
If I write anything weird or incoherent here, I blame it on my grogginess.

I'll be going to Vietnam for the December holidays! It's going to be a ten day vacation and all I can think about is "WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO MY HOMEWORK OMG" I doubt I can finish BUT anything is possible *unbelievably optimistic again*

Okay so for the second day, we took a domestic flight from Kunming to Shangri-la.
I actually found for Shangri-la to be an odd name for a place because I read somewhere that once an author used "Shngari-la" to describe a utopia. But I think he was inspired by Shangri-la county because it is truly a very beautiful place being capable of being called a utopia.
(Not so much a paradise, because paradise has tropical connotations. And trust me, Shangri-la at winter will freeze your nose off)

How will the day start right without a selfie

It was extremely cold! I think most of us got bloody nose shit because of the cold and dry air we were breathing in. Capillaries were the casualties here.
The landscape and blue skyyyy ah that I couldn't get enough of. This place is a gift from the heavens.
After a bus took us all the way up to the Pudacuo national forest park, we had to walk 2+ km back down =_= It was rather bearable though... Chatting and just looking at scenery.
On our way down, I helped a man and his mother take a photo it was so cute n_n
Additionally, Madam Ong over heard every single gossip Sinyen and I were talking about on the way down because she was directly in front of us oh god why.

THE SUN WAS SO BLINDING I ALMOST BURNED BY RETINAS.
It was also so cold that whenever sunlight shined onto my body I was so thankful. Without the sun, I'll prolly become an ice popsicle wtf

We also saw many Yaks but then I don't know why I dont have a single photo of them here.

Yes it was so cold that I had to wear gloves to prevent my fingers from dropping off. Additionally I would like to commend my hair for protecting my face and neck from freezing off too. Yes I was a dumpling for a few days.
The worst part about the cold was that it was so difficult to take photos with my phone! I had to take out my fingers from my gloves, unlock my phone and press the button all while the bittering cold was carrassing my fingers T^T

Isn't this cloudless sky beautiful?!
So beautiful that I think there might be people who would steal this photo and put it on their tumblr.

Look at this perfectly reflective surface and cloudless sky oh god BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART FROM THE HEAVENS (also one of the very rare times where my photography skills aren't that horrible n_n")

Hi I'm a hobo

Some spot in the middle of the trail for us to rest our souls (or butts)

Sinyen's a glowing fairy

Madam Ong is one crazy bitch.
For the first few days where it was all sightseeing and a hell load of walking, she always always always wore heels. Ok to be fair, they were more like wedges BUT STILL!!!!!!! Won't her feet hurt? Amazingly enough she never fell down. She still struts like she's a model used to wearing 6 inch heels. What kind of skill is this oh gosh I'm in absolute awe.
(Also because I can never wear heels to save my life; I think I'd rather DIE. I'm a sneaker gurllll)

During the trip everyone was complaining about how dry their skin has become... While my skin remained oily as ever T_T Guess it's good to have oily skin as
a) I wont suffer from dry flaky skin in the winter
b) I wont get wrinkly skin when I'm old
c) I can't think of anymore benefits LOL

While at lunch! The restaurant had a room with a green house glass roof and IT MADE THE ROOM SO DARN WARM. What a lovely place it was to be in!!!! We just stayed inside that room until it was time to leave (and then it was into the freezing cold again)
Additionally, the toilet was so far away from the restaurant. So just to pee, we had to walk 10m to the toilet (which had a really weird flush system-there was a plastic bag on top of the bowl and when you pressed flush, the plastic bag changes to a new one. So basically they throw your waste somewhere without using water to flush it o_o) and the toilet taps had no running water because it was probably frozen...
Yes we didnt wash our hands after peeing. Judgement is accepted.

After, we went to Shangri-la ancient city. Basically just walking around a tourist trap.
So many people persuading and begging you to buy their items when you just wanna walk around and admire the scenery in peace. Oh gosh.

Yes I succumbed to this nonsense HAHHA honestly it was very fun but at the same time made me really sad because the yak looked so depressed T^T I feel like crying now just thinking about it. Yes it was a novel experience, sitting at the back of some animal... But then I saw the sadness in its eyes u_u

Both Yuqi and I wanted to go up the temple to pray (yes I am quite religious. I think I started having more faith this year... I wonder why too) and we met this girl. I think she's in charge of the temple and insisted that we have to put money to get joss sticks o_o
I was honestly very startled because she was slightly deranged. But then she was really very cute n_n
Oh after that we proceeded to climb higher to spin some.......... thing. Oh gosh I have no idea what it's called.

Peace, niggaz.

Being crazy in the hotel room.
Oh before this I was at the lobby leeching off hotel wifi and Brandon was there rehearsing his speech. I was like O______O
Because he spoke in chinese and it was really very very nice so I was just like O____O x666666

For some reason this is my favourite photo out of this entire set hahah just look at shirlene's face xD
And the white part at the bottom of our faces is the bed sheet.

Was tickling her i think ._.

BYE BYE and cya
